Ada Friedman has exhibited extensively, including solo and two-person exhibitions at David Peter Francis, NYC (2024), Kendra Jayne Patrick, Bern Switzerland (2022), and at The University of Tennessee Downtown Gallery, Knoxville, TN (2022). Kendra Jayne Patrick exhibited a solo presentation of Friedman’s work at Art Basel Miami Beach (2023). Her plays or time-based paintings have been staged in NYC at Essex Flowers, White Columns, and Safe Gallery. She holds an MFA from Bard College in Painting. Friedman’s artist book Drawing Hilma Af Klint, made in collaboration with artists Ariel Dill and Denise Schatz was published by Miniature Garden (2014, second edition 2019). She was a Visiting Artist in Painting and Drawing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2021-22) and has participated in such residencies as Shandaken Projects, NY, and Clay Break at The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR. She is a founding member of the artist-run cooperative gallery Essex Flowers in NYC. Friedman is the 2025-26 Grant Wood Painting Fellow at the University of Iowa. She lives and works in NYC and the Texas Hill Country.
